The psychiatry summit

The psychiatry summit is an annually recurrent event the goal of the summit is to give the mentally vulnerable people and their relatives a stronger voice in society, political attention, new and better knowledge and to eliminate prejudice and taboos.

Mental illness and vulnerability is not necessarily for life. It is possible to recover – and many people live normal lives with jobs, families, friends, and so on. We aim to create new and better rights for mentally vulnerable people, to ensure pride in people with mental illnesses, their relatives, the people who work with mental illnesses and everyone who helps and support.

The reasons for arranging The Psychiatry Summit is that we want to make mental vulnerability an agenda for our politicians and we want mental illnesses to be prioritized on equal terms with somatic illnesses in the Danish healthcare policy.

The summit brings together mentally vulnerable people and their relatives, employees in the care sector, employees in psychiatry, researchers and a wide range of organizations.
